Media personality, Tolu Oniru-Demuren, better known Toolz has taken to social media to celebrate the posthumous birthday of the late legendary singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan.
The late singer would have been 45 years old today, 27th November 2022.
Celebrating his posthumous birthday, Toolz took to her Instagram story to share a throwback picture of herself and Sound Sultan. With a love emoji, she wrote happy birthday while tagging his page.
Sound Sultan’s death
Sound Sultan died of Angioimmunoblastic T- Cell Lymphoma in the United States of America on 11th July 2022.
The Naija Ninja crooner’s career in show business started in the 1990s, when he hosted shows to raise money for studio sessions.
By 1999, he had won numerous local talent-hunt shows. He released his first single “Jagbajantis” in 2000, which was a hit in Nigeria.
After independently releasing other singles and featuring in hit songs of other artists, he was signed by Kennis Music.
Sound Sultan began a working relationship with Wyclef Jean when featured alongside 2face Idibia and Faze on “Proud to be African” from Wyclef’s Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 album.
In 2012, it was announced that Sound Sultan was made a UN Ambassador for Peace for his exemplary lifestyle and career. In 2015, Sound Sultan released the rap single “Remember” after a long absence from the music scene.
Toolz mourn Sound Sultan
Toolz took to social media page to mourn Sound Sultan.
Following the news of Sound Sultan’s death which spread like wildfire, Toolz said the singer’s death has left her confused because she spoke with the singer recently and he said that the Doctors were impressed with how fast he is getting better.
