Arsenal will try to land Ferran Torres from Barcelona in the January window as Mikel Arteta looks to bring in a replacement for Gabriel Jesus.
According to fichajes.net, Arteta had tried to sign Torres when he was at Manchester City.
However, the 22-year-old could now be set for a switch back to England just 12 months after leaving for Nou Camp.
The LaLiga giants are prepared to let Torres leave only one year into his five-year contract, with head coach Xavi so far unimpressed with the club’s return on their £46.3 million investment.
Barcelona are convinced they will not be able to recoup most of the original fee that they paid Man City, with Torres claimed to be among a number of potential exits.
Torres is currently on vacation following Spain’s exit from the 2022 World Cup, where he scored twice in four appearances.
The forward would be a sizeable coup for Arsenal after Jesus underwent surgery on a knee injury he sustained while playing for Brazil at the World Cup.
