Chelsea are optimistic of lowering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s demands so they can sign him ahead of the transfer deadline.
However, the UK Telegraph reports that the 33-year-old is demanding a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge, which the Blues are not prepared to offer.
Chelsea have also not met Barcelona’s £25.6m asking price, but this is believed to be less of an issue.
Aubameyang is understood to be keen on the move and salary is understood not to be an issue.
The report adds that the deal has been complicated by an attack on the Barca striker.
Aubameyang and his wife were hit in the face in front of their children during a violent attack by armed robbers in the early hours of Monday.
