Rangers and Scotland legend, Ally McCoist has questioned Mikel Arteta’s decision to bring Jorginho to the Emirates Stadium on January transfer deadline day.
Arsenal signed Jorginho from Chelsea and McCoist believes the midfielder will not fit into Mikel Arteta’s style of play.
The Gunners were keen on recruiting a new central midfielder before the January transfer window closes.
Arsenal succeeded in signing the Italy International from Chelsea in a £12 million deal.
But the ex-Rangers striker, McCoist wonders how the midfielder would fit into the Arsenal set up when he does not play at the same tempo as the Gunners’ current midfield trio.
“I don’t see it as a great move,” McCoist told talkSPORT.
“I think he [Jorginho] plays the game at a different pace than what Arsenal want to play at right now.
“He’s not going to leave one club where he’s sitting on the bench and be happy sitting on the bench at another.”
