Why Tinubu will continue to intervene in states’ crises — Presidency

The Presidency has defended President Bola Tinubu’s involvement in addressing political crises in Ondo and Rivers states, emphasizing that his intervention is motivated by the broader national interest.

Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale affirmed that Tinubu’s actions aim to prevent the destabilization of specific regions or states that could potentially escalate into a nationwide crisis.

Ngelale clarified that the President, in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, is obligated to ensure the safety and stability of the Nigerian populace, and as such, his intervention aims to address political conflicts that could lead to security vulnerabilities.

Despite criticisms of Tinubu’s approach, there has been a noticeable improvement in the stability of the affected states following his interventions.
