Temilade Rasheed, a woman seeking a divorce, claimed on Wednesday in Ibadan’s Mapo Grade “A” Customary Court that her husband, Adeboye Rasheed, despises her for having three daughters.
In her evidence before the court, Temilade pleaded with the judge to accept her application for divorce even though she was seeking the dissolution of her marriage.
“My in-laws are pressuring my estranged husband to divorce me because I have given birth to three girls and one boy.Rasheed, my lord, no longer loves me because I have three daughters. He treated me like garbage and married another woman after my girls were born.My fourth child, a boy, is the only one that Rasheed takes care of”, Temilade stated.
She added that her spouse had turned her into a punching bag.
She told the court that he has not been responsible for the welfare of the three children.
Temilade consequently prayed the court to grant her custody of all the children but order Rasheed to be responsible for their upkeep.
The Court President, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, adjourned the suit until May 26 for the respondent to open his defence.
