Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has predicted that England and France will face off in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup.
The Three Lions face Senegal, while Les Bleus take on Poland in the last-16 fixtures to be played Sunday.
Wenger is already looking beyond the two matches and feels France and England will make it into the last eight.
“If all goes to plan these two favourites England and France might meet.
“The teams with the best benches have the best chance of winning. France is one of them. They were young when they won the World Cup [in 2018].
“England is one of them. Outstanding in the first game, they struggled in the second and then they came back when needed to be very convincing against Wales.
“England look to be a team now at their peak to develop. They have learned and still have a young team,” Wenger said.
