Anas Dahiru, a resident of Unguwar Dallatu in Gusau, Zamfara State, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Zamfara State High Court. The conviction stems from Anas allegedly killing his friend, Shamsu Ibrahim, with a knife during a dispute over one hundred Naira in 2017. The court, presided over by Justice Mukhtar Yusha’u, deemed Anas guilty after considering both sides of the case. The death penalty was issued in accordance with section 221 of the Penal Code.
